Points taken. It's too late for a gun free America considering it's part of your foundation. The right to bare arms was put in place at a time when people were the law and had to defend their land, but it's 2008 now, you can defend yourself with mase or stun guns or cops/security systems. I would recomend you visit Canada and see for yourself what a gunless society is like. America sounds like a place full of fear for one another and that's disapointing. Maybe It's time to think about this.

JaimequinDime was the type of guy that would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. It's sad that a guy like that had to die the way he did.I will not enter into the gun debate but I'll tell you I own close to 60 guns. This includes machine guns, artillery, etc. Years ago my sister had an ex that was stalking her. She took out a restraining order and went to buy a gun. During the "waiting period" her ex broke into her home and stabbed her 47 times. Owning a gun, she might be alive today.

DOD defined assault rifles are VERY regulated and VERY expensive. Entry level for a full auto is about $5000 plus the $200 tax stamp. You also have to live in a state that allows class III automatic weapons, pass a strict background check, and have a local law LEO head sign off on the paperwork. The same goes for SBR's, SBS's, suppressors, and destructive devices. AOW's require the same except the tax stamp is $5.

One more point. Do you know how organized crime started in America? Prohibition. When alcohol was made illegal, small time hoods became millionaire mobsters running liquor. Mobster violence was the reason prohibition was repealed. The same thing is going on today with violence from millionaire drug cartels. Your solution is to give the mobsters one more way of making money. I do not see the logic in that.

Ok - the banning of handguns is the reason our forefathers wrote the Second Amendment. Banning handguns would be illegal according to the Supreme Court. A ban on handguns would result in the removal of any elected federal officials that call for this action. What if? Just to make a point for debate, let's say handguns are banned. You can no longer go to the store and buy one. What are you going to do about the MILLIONS of handguns already in the hands of citizens?

I hate to say this but then wouldn't banning personal hand guns or weapons solve this problem? Sure people will get guns no matter what, but the chances of obtaining assault rifles, Hand guns, explosives, and so on would be more difficult and costly. That would ensure no youth or retard has easy access. In Toronto we have shootings, but sadly the guns come from the states. If not for your laws we probably won't see any hand guns here at all. Rifles are legal for hunting with strict licensing

I wish I knew dime personaly even though in a way it feels like i did. He touched my soul and inspired me to play guitar and never give up. I'm glad to hear you're doing somthing about that situation and I wish you all the best in your efforst to stop violence from happening to others. Take care man.

Dime was a good friend of mine. After his murder, I got into the band security business. 32 years as an operator in the militery gave me the tools for hand to hand combat. Even so, when on the job I arm myself to the maximum allowed by law.

You can't regulate insanity. RESPONSIBLE gun owners are not the problem. There are LAWS in place to imprison parents who allow kids access to guns. You can't regulate stupidity. (Like the stupid cop in this video)I agree there is a problem. The trouble is, there is no solution. Laws only have effect on those inclined to obey them.

I was talking about the insanity of all that carzy shooting. Looks like tons of fun. What you said about the kids getting guns illegaly like that of drugs makes sense. But the famous shootings that make the news are teens who took their parents guns to town, a guy bought guns legaly shot up his University, Dime Bag Darrel killed on stage by a gun givin to the killer by the killer's mom as a present. Regardless of age, guns kill. Can you trust everyone to be responsible?
