The one and only reference to Kurt Vonnegut on this page... thank you!

No it doesn't. This song has more of a Buddist message then a Christian message.

stop ! the lot of you! This is a beautiful way in saying how we should be with eachother. If only we took this as advice it would be a lovlier place. Ok ok I know it also smacks of John Lennon "Imagine" but lets just ........"Imagine"

Just to add, this is probably the most intelligent conversation I've ever had on Youtube. Usually this place is crawling with uneducated trolls that spew nothing but, "FUK U" etc. Thanks Yorranne1.

In addition I also stated, "Also, you need to realize that not everyone shares the same beliefs as you." which speaks for itself. If the original author had put "Pray" in the address to the graduates, a rather large outcry would have been voiced by other religious or non-religious groups who would have assumed the speaker was talking about Christianity. You have to look at the big picture and know what you are talking about.

Baz Luhrmann didn't write this....It was an address dictated to the graduating class of 1997 at a highschool in the United States.I also said "Don't let other's push theirs on you." in reference to religious beliefs, which it seems you ignored.More on next post sorry, it doesn't all fit. Only a 500 character count. :(

you said he was trying to push his beliefs on other people. he wasn't, he was just saying what he believed in.you need to learn about God before you talk about him. God doesn't want to make the decisions for us; infact its the opposite. if you're theory on God was true, why would he give Adam and Eve the choice to eat of the tree of knowledge in garden of eden?praying is not relinquishing free will, it is simply talking to someone bigger than you. i'm sure baz would approve of prayer.
Sht4nky (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
All I did was voice my opinion.Telling the viewer to pray would be a contradiction because the words are telling the viewer to make choices, be themselves, and live life.Praying would imply that there is a god or gods to pray to, therefore voiding any implication of free choice in the world. You see, if one believes in a god then they must believe that what are doing was the choice of that god. So if a god is making all the decisions for a person then that person has no free choice.

i'm pretty sure all he did was voice his opinion.you need to relax. and explain how praying would contradict everything in the video..?
