Why "biofuel" or corn gasoline isn't going to solve our fuel crisis and is a bad idea. Here is another video talking about the myth of corn gasoline. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... to Sources (caution: all links leading away from Irked-Confusion sites usually become inactive over time). http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/... http://www.lifeaftertheoilcras... http://www.sierraclub.org/glob... http://michaelbluejay.com/elec... http://www.freewebs.com/irkedc...

Biodiesel- easy to make (cost about $.50 a gallon and can even make it a home with household products found out Wal-mart), renewable, eco friendly, and can be made from American plants(used fryer oil.)Lets use solar panels, wind energy, and bio-diesel.

That's okay, I just wanted to post my 2 cents that there is still hope for biofuel.

Thank you. That is a good idea and we should be looking into it. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do just that so don't expect a video on algae biofuels.

Actually, if you really want the ultimate source of Biofuel, then you should look into algae and one company called Vertigro, has started this project on it already. Because of the nature of algae, it's very well suited to be the source of biofuel. An acre of corn may produce up to 20 gallons of oil, an acre of palm will produce up to 300 gallons, but algae can produce over a hundred thousand of gallons.

Well there are no government subsidies for Jatropha so it doesn't make my food prices go up, and so it featured in the video. Besides there are a whole lot of problems with introducing species of plants, especially something like this that could destabilize local ecosystems if it's transplanted over here.

Corn gasoline is biofuel, but not all biofuel is corn based. There are all sorts of great ways of producing bio-diesel without having to distill. Japtropha weeds for instance. You take the seeds, squeeze out the oil, filter, and you're done. The energy output is far greater than the energy input.
