First of all, I have to say thank you so much for posting of this TV series. I like to read a fictional novel about history. I have read a lot of medieval stuff. Now I am very interested in Roman history. Mayby I should start to read about them. Once again, thank you.

I had to post to say thank you so much for sharing this. It's not included on the US boxed set, and until my daughter sent me the link to it, I had no idea that this existed. It was wonderful to see the interviews with the cast, and learn more about the making of I, Claudius. It truly is an incredible series, and I agree that it stands alone, and could be re-aired and receive the acclaim that it did when first aired.

Now this is real television. Great acting, story and plot. You just don't get shows like this any more. Nowadays it's just the same old lame recycled American drama series (cough... Heroes)

I found my parents VHS and watched the first part of "I, Claudius" when I was WAY younger than 12...maybe 8 or 9 I think. It basically burning itself in my brain. I will never, never forget someone running in to tell Livia that Marcellus was "belching up green slime!" and she, with a cool turn of the head, remarking it must be "a good sign". I wouldn't recommend it for really young kids, but I don't think scar them for life.
