This is Time (The Dark Side of the Moon, 1973), from Pink Floyd, live at P.U.L.S.E; recorded at Earls Court, London, in 1994. Roger Waters, one of the the composers of Time, is not in this show.Current members of Pink Floyd are: David Gilmour (guitars, lead vocals) • Richard Wright(keyboards, secondary vocals, backing vocals) • Nick Mason(drums, percussion);Lyrics:Ticking away the moments that make up a dull dayYou fritter and waste the hours in an offhand wayKicking around on a piece of ground in your home townWaiting for someone or something to show you the wayTired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rainYou are young and life is long and there is time to kill todayAnd then one day you find ten years have got behind youNo one told you when to run, you missed the starting gunAnd you run and you run to catch up with the sun,but it's sinkingAnd racing around to come up behind you againThe sun is the same in a relative way, but you're olderShorter of breath and one day closer to deathEvery year is getting shorter, never seem to find the timePlans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled linesHanging on in quiet desperation is the English wayThe time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to sayHome, home againI like to be here when I canWhen I come home cold and tiredIt's good to warm my bones beside the fireFar away across the fieldThe tolling of the iron bellCalls the faithful to their kneesTo hear the softly spoken magic spells._______________________Ripped, edited, and encoded by me. I did my best to maintain the quality, but for some reason there is a problem of sync, with some audio lag. Please enjoy the wonderful music. http://www.pinkfloyd.co.uk/

Amazing song by an amazing band. Gilmore still sounds great at this age

I didn't bring up Nirvana or Oasis, somebody asked if they were classic, and I answered. Moving on...When punk happened, it was as a response to the self-fellating arena rock of bands like Boston. Pink Floyd, to be fair, never scraped the bottom of that barrel on their worst day. In fact, part of The Wall is about this very problem. But when Waters left, suddenly you have a band playing Comfortably Numb to an arena, sans irony. True Floyd fans did stick by them, but the world at large didn't.

could there be a song that speaks for the epitome of the human experience more so than this? the passage of time is the one thing we all have in common, no matter what time period we were born into.I think Floyd summed it up all too well- in both lyrics and music.I listened to this when I was younger, and felt the magnitude of what it would be like to be older looking upon the past. Now that I am older, I feel the regret, remorse, etc., is just as they had sung about.
