"At the risk of sounding stupid, what is a "carbon credit"?"IMO carbon credits or offesets are stupid idea your question isn't. It is supposedly a way to "reduce" the carbon dioxide output by funding a carbon dioxide reduction scheme (which basically does not work for number of reasons anyway) elsewhere. Example the coal burner funds a wind power installation somewhere in the world.

For considering how much effect CO2 has, what matters is the percentage CO2 is of all Greenhouse gases, not of the atmosphere, and it's definitely enough to have a big effect google "Climate myths CO2 isn't" which has CO2 at about 20% of the greenhouse effect, similar to the other figures I gave which could be found by googling "Calculating the greenhouse effect". CO2 is current about 27% higher than it has ever been in the last 600,000 yrs and going up very quickly.

Wow you're so very clever... Ok what about Hydrogen cyanide. A chemical that if taken at small doses (a minuscule fraction of your body weight) will kill you. So yes it still stands arguing that because CO2 is present in the atmosphere in very small concentrations ,it can't have much of an impact is for cranks and simpletons.

ebola virus??? wait a second... is this guy implying that CO2 penetrates other gasses and rewrites their DNA to produce more CO2??? that's what a virus does... that's why it only takes a little to have a devestating effect... what a stupid parallel... where did this guy get his degree??? cracker jack!!

What is a swindle? Who is profitting from the movement to clean up the earth? I don't think you have to be a scientist to see dead fish washing up on the beach or gag at the smog in the city.

Also, he didn't explain it very well but when you look at that graph of the last 1000 years it would have been measured with old-school mercury thermometers, but then of you add the last 17 years of "accurate information" it would have been taken with high tech electronic thermometers, therefore any change in the last 17 years can be explained by the different methods of measurement.
