inflation by War and boondoggles are what drive up commodity prices. Corn went up least last year compared to soy or wheat. That's because farmers planted 19 million more acres to corn than last year, using only 11 million for ethanol. Were OPEC and Big Oil not buying up commodities like there was no tomorrow, corn would have stayed flat last year. Now corn is under $5 a normal price given the WAR inflation we labor under.

It's the war on some terrorists, iow, inflation. Iraq will cost us 3 trillion, even if we stop the war tomorrow. Bush and friends will get rich, but our dollar will end up in the dumpster.The whole world could have put stills in every country on earth for 500 billion dollars, replacing 100% of gasoline.We should drill for more oil, but only if oil companies will allow us to buy it and use it here. Otherwise, it will go to Japan and China

Not so. Brazil uses one percent of its farmland in the other end of its country, no where near the rain forests to make ethanol for fuel.Big Oil has you snookered

food precess are not going up because of this (because of gas), we are getting more out of it than we put in (it as a ratio of 1.3 to 1, wich isint must but it is still their). 50% of the corn grown in the US is used in animal feed. les than 10% is sold as food for human consumption. now i do have to agree that Ethenal is not the answer, but what HE docent see is that it will take a combination of many things such as hybrids and more fuel efficient engine. also 12% in this case is a lot and we

bad gas mileage tricks o2sensor with more oxygen runnign it rich does not work with the catalytic converter so overall only helps gas companies and air somewhat

2 years ago and he could forsee the problems ethanol is causing now, corn prices (read all food prices) skyrocketing, fuel price double, he was right, ethanol solved nothing, just a political pawn, I am sure he see's a bigger picture than any of us, particularly people with green tinted glasses.
