I wanted to try dog and cat while I was there but as you say it was not to be found. China imported tons of beef from South America for the Olympics. It would have been a real treat to try true Chinese food. I'm sure I will never have the chance again.

China gets a gold metal in animal cruelty! But there are no animal welfare laws in China. And countless dogs & cats have been boiled alive, skinned alive.Atheletes and visitors can sit down and enjoy a nice bowel of sweet & sour kitty or Puppy Kung Pao! OOops I forgot. Bejing banned dog and cat meat in restaurants for the olympics-covering up what kind of people and society they really are like. I wonder how many dogs and cats China skinned alive today?
