King Crimson definitely contributed a lot along with the Nice, ELP and Yes. Don't forget to add Jethro Tull and Genesis to the mix as well. Truth be told, there were many great bands and artists that contributed to the genre that was Prog rock. Keith's band, the Nice, were doing some really forward looking things in 1968 and 1969. In fact that's how Keith and Greg Lake met. The Nice were playing back up for King Crimson and they met back stage. The rest is history as the saying goes.

I don't think you realize the importance of king crimson, my good man, the band bill bruford joined after he left Yes.They all brought it forward, don't say it was just ELP and YEs cause eventually YES collapsed on itself and so did ELP. they ended up killing prog for everyoneKing crimson never did that. You don't know your prog kid

Yeah I know the band where Greg sung. You can place them along with Keith band with the singer that set his head on fire. But that's not the point. The two bands that took farword Prog were ELP and YES.

King Crimson actually were the first ones to play prog rock, In the Court of the Crimson King check out, although there are probably many unknowns who enver made it big who played prog rock. but I love all Prog bands , YEs, ELP, King Crimson all great

Got you, now I understand. Hey, it was her idea, not mine! They all did it without putting their hands on her chest. Someday I'll sell that blouse on eBay for a hundred or more. I was happy enough to have them sign my ticket stub although I still kick myself for not taking the top lid of Hammond B3 and a gold pen for Emerson to sign with. Now that would be cool, owning a Hammond signed by Keith Emerson!!! He lives in Malibu now, maybe I can still work that out (??) Cheers!
