According to living green tv we spend more money on our lawns collectively than is spent on all agricuulture world wide. That is staggering we could wipe out hunger if we would just try to use our minds and our hearts.

Whoops, I thought my last two comments would be linked with those whose comments I replied too. It would be great to see a LOT more folks doing what the Dervaes are doing.

Look around your town for a community garden plot where you could grow your own food!

You aren't guaranteed medical or dental even if you have a "normal" job. I've had several employers who didn't offer insurance.

i checked out this book on someone's suggestion. it seemed great at first glance but when i really wanted to get down to the nitty gritty i found out it lacked factual proof and examples. it just seemed to be something that was just preachy with ideas but no howto. i was really disappointed to find out the authors did practically none of what was written. to them it's just another green bandwagon money making book that clutters up our bookshelves and cuts down our trees.

Absolutely, it is easy to read and makes the concept seem possible. It teaches little things to do to improve your life and simplify. I highly recommend it. You can probably find it at your library.

No kidding! It has to be all or nothing for these people... what's wrong with a few chickens and some carrots?

All the Americans are wondering how they're going to grow their McDonalds.
