I needed to hear this song tonight and it was the first time I heard and saw K.D.'s version. First heard Cohen's masterpiece on West Wing.This is by far the best cover yet.I was a vocal major & it's true that singers voices are best between 40 and 60. KD is in beautiful form.I love the barefeet and the staging,notice the wrapping of the mike cord "tied to kitchen chair" I am straight,an independent voter, and believe everyone should find love and hold on to it with whomever loves em back.

Completely agree with you and i think it's even more pure when you know what is involved politically. it's even more moving and touching. but it's my opinion and i understand yaacov18 does'nt like politics. So whatever your opinion on the matter, we can all enjoy that great piece of music and this great singer and woman :)

Yaacov18:well that is what they told my great grandmother, an opera singer in Madrid in Spain in the 40'sLook what happened then. Franco ring a bell?I wont comment further. But you do know KD is a lesbian and the Republicans would like to deny her equal rights just because of who she is? I am not Gay- but when I 1st saw her in Dallas it was illegal to be a lesbian in Texas. She risked arrest just to come there w/ her girlfriend. So it is not totally out of context. Enjoy the music!

Whenever I am having a bad day (or have to listen to a Republican speak) I always come back to this. She truely channels the voice of a Higher Power....This is too sweet for words.Thank you Jesus for this woman!
