http://www.edmunds.com/insidel... to VW, the new 2008 Volkswagen Scirocco has been designed as a pure sports car. So forget for a moment that it's essentially a rebodied GTI. And disregard the fact that instead of a sloping hatchback like its predecessor, this Scirocco has a more traditional square back like, uh, the GTI.

If they ever brought that to the states it would gut the GTI in sales. That is why they won't bring it here.

I didnt say they were the same cars. I just mean the money all goes the same way so buy an Audi, VW wont care!!

non scherzare te lo dice uno che ha appena provato la scirocco io ho avuto un audi a3 nel 2005 ti posso assicurare che e di un altra categoria, me ne sono talmente innamorato che penso proprio di comprarla.poi il desine della A3 e ormai datato da 6 anni ormai mi sa che tra un po lanciano anche la nuova A3 con una nuova linea, li poi si potrà tornare a discutere di quale sia la piu bella ps: ah dimenticavo da 0 a 100 Kh in un battito di ciglia !! ;)

Audi are part of the VW group - but they are not the same. There are lots of similarities, but Audi's are better quality.My Golf isn't as nice as my Audi A3 was :-(

I have now driven the Mito 1.4 155hp and the Scirocco 1.4 160hp (in Portugal they cost practically the same and I was in doubt about which one I would buy). The Mito is good, but the Scirocco is in another league. For the same money (€1.500 difference...), there are no second thoughts. The suspension (DCC), the steering, the engine, the interior quality, the rear seats space and the gearbox are a lot better in the Scirocco. The whole VW feels more premium.
