On second thoughts...I just watched your Richard Thompson 'favourite' and my god it was like watching two crippled flies trying to crawl up a window pane....or should that be pain? Jesus christ man, bland was added to the language for songs like that.

That is a wonderfully disrespectful comment. I have to hand it to you. If you are going too upset a whole nation...why tip toe around! Hahahaha ya cheeky sod!

Beautiful, Rabbie would be proud (and he'd probably try to shag her too!)

Reminds me of the classical music used to "calm" the patients in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. Cheese.Bring back Colin Fox.

I visited Scotland for the first time last June on a Rick Steves tour. My tour guide introduced us to Edie Reader, among other lovely Scottish performers. This song brings tears to my eyes, and makes me want to return again to my ancestral hoe.

This has to be my most favourite vid on here, it's fantastic, oooh the goosebumps, makes me proud to be a Scot! I love that she stuck with the Scots words for the most part...awesome!

The bottom line? Auld Lang Syne is an immortal melody, instantly memorable but hard to forget, beloved by Scots and non-Scots such as myself alike. It takes nothing away from it that the version the world loves is a later variant or evolution of the original.
