Because of marketing. A "marketing" gig is equal to 1000 while an actual gig on the computer is 1024. That 24 adds up after a while.

the 4 screws are really tight. I just swapped my 40gb to 250gb. Anyone knows why after formatting it shows only 205/232 GB available?? this is without restoring the backup. Where's the remaining 27GB??
